Lecture Series
The keynote address for the conference will be presented by Juli Cho Bailer. From 2004 to 2007, Ms. Cho Bailer held the positions of Curator and Adjunct Exhibition Curator at the Museum of Glass: International Center of Contemporary Art, in Tacoma, Washington, USA.
Ms. Cho Bailer’s curatorial projects include the outdoor multi-media installation 100,000 Dreams: A Project by Ik-Joong Kang (Paju Reunification Park, De-Militarized Zone, South Korea, 1999); a mid-career survey of the American glass artist William Morris—William Morris: Myth, Object, and the Animal (Museum of Glass, Tacoma, Washington, 2005); the first museum exhibition of the American cast glass artist Karen LaMonte—Karen LaMonte: Absence Adorned (Museum of Glass, Tacoma, Washington, 2005 – 2006; exh. cat.); a group exhibition in varying media, including works in digital animation, embroidery, installation, and glass—Context 1: Fresh! Contemporary Takes on Nature & Allegory (Museum of Glass, Tacoma, Washington, 2006; exh. cat.); and a survey of 21st century works and installation in glass within the contemporary art framework: Mining Glass (Museum of Glass, 2007 – 2008; exh. cat.)
